Super Easy Homemade BBQ
Looking for a healthy BBQ sauce? Here is a recipe that I love and use in many of my other recipes. It is totally sugar, dairy, and gluten free, however if you like sweet BBQ you can add honey to this recipe!
Ingredients:
4 cans tomato paste
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tablespoons white wine vinegar
4 Tablespoons tamari (gluten free soy sauce)
4 teaspoons chili powder
garlic powder/fresh garlic to taste, I like a few cloves
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon cinnamon
water or broth
Optional:
hot sauce to taste
honey to taste
Instructions:
1. Put all ingredients except water in a medium sized sauce pan and stir, then slowly add the water/broth to desired consistency.
2. Put on the stove on medium low, stirring until it begins bubbling.
3. Then reduce to very low and cover, simmering for at least 30 minutes. Stir every ten minutes so that it doesn't stick to the bottom.
After you are done, you can use immediately or store in the fridge for 2 weeks. After a day or so in the fridge it does taste better to me, I think because the flavors get to sit together. Stir or shake up before using.
Happy Cooking!!!
